Mayor Deke Copenhaver will attend the ribbon cutting of the opening of the 2008 Georgia-Carolina State Fair on Thursday, October 16th at 5:30pm. Presented by the Augusta Exchange Club, the Fair will feature new rides this year that are so heavy they had to be brought in by train. The new rides include the Top Spin and a new Double Carousel. opens to the public on Friday, October 17th and will run through Sunday, October 26th.
