Candidates Prepare For WNRR Radio Forum

WNRR Augusta –

Augusta, Ga. – Two Live Radio Candidate’s Forums will be held 12 noon – 3 p.m. Wednesday, June 11th at the Holiday Inn, 2155 Gordon Highway. Local talk radio host Helen Blocker-Adams, host of ‘People and Issues with Helen’ on NewsRadio 1230 AM WNRR, will offer these forums live on her radio program.

Georgia State Senate District 22 forum will be held 12 noon – 1:30 p.m. Incumbent Senator Ed Tarver and challenger Former County Commissioner, Marion Williams, have confirmed their attendance.

Georgia State House of Representatives District 117 and 118 forum will be held 1:45 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. Lee Benedict, candidate for House Seat 118 and Brett McGuire, candidate for House Seat 117 have confirmed their attendance. Rep. Ben Harbin campaign staff informed us weeks ago that he had a scheduling conflict and would not be able to participate. . Although Lee Anderson, candidate for House Seat 118, was confirmed, a campaign staff member informed us on Monday that he will not be able to attend due to a business conflict.

“We want to once again offer the community an opportunity for people to hear, see and meet the candidates who are running in these important races. They can either come to the forums in person, listen to the forums on their radio or listen via the Internet at,” said Blocker-Adams.

The final live radio candidate’s forums are scheduled for Wednesday, June 18th where Congressional Districts 10 and 12 will be held.

The media and public are invited.

    Lee Anderson is running against Brett McGuire for District 117 NOT District 118 (or house seat 118).
