WNRR Augusta – (City Press Release)
Augusta Canal Aqueduct is one of the oldest and most historical
aqueducts in the region and features natural waterfalls, rapids, and a
lagoon. It is natural for fishing and swimming. The First Saturday
Foundation has removed debris and cleared wilderness areas, while
leaving the natural aesthetic and making it a safe area for recreation.
States Mayor Copenhaver, “Considering the current state of fuel costs in our nation, an easily accessible recreational opportunity affords for an even greater positive impact on our City.”
The public is welcome. The access to the Aqueduct is located off
Goodrich Street by Sibley Mill. For more information, please contact
