Grant Announced For Augusta

WNRR Augusta – (Congressional Press Release)

Augusta, GA-U.S. Congressman Paul Broun, M.D. is pleased to announce that the U.S. Department of Transportation has awarded a grant in the amount of $150,000 to the City of Augusta .  The funding provides for the rehabilitation design of the terminal building at Daniel Field, which the city owns and operates on Highland Avenue .

“Daniel Field has a rich history in Augusta, serving as an Army airbase during World War II.  Now, Daniel Field provides a home for dozens of private and corporate aircraft,” said Broun.  “As a practicing physician, I particularly appreciate that Daniel Field is used as a landing site for critical medical transport; as a private pilot, I have flown into and out of Daniel Field on numerous occasions.  It is only fitting that the city be awarded the funds to preserve and expand this community jewel.”

The Federal Aviation Administration is the DOT agency in charge of distributing these funds.
